Welcome Back: Brother Paul Kim (2 years 8 months) and John Kim (6 months) are back after their mission work overseas.
Winter Retreat: January 7th – 9th @ Big Bear. Today is the last day to sign up! Please see Grace Lee with the sign up sheet. We need to have a final list of people to arrange for transportation and loading.
LCM: We are resuming LCM starting January 16th.
LCM Leaders Meeting: Sunday, January 16th after service. Details TBA.
Last Theology class: Last class will be on Friday January 14th, 2011 at 7pm.

John 1
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

LCM Winter Break: Our Local Community Meetings (LCMs) are going on winter break from Dec 12th to Jan 9th 2011.
LCM’s will start rotating for cleaning duty after refreshments.
EM Christmas Sunday Service and Party: Dec 19th 2010 @ 1:35pm. Please invite your friends and family to join our Christmas service. Afterwards, please join us for our EM Christmas Party at the Koh’s family house.

Today’s Passage 12/12/10
1 Corinthians 13
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
